My Story:

Becoming a therapist feels, in many ways, like something that was written in the stars long before I could name it. As a child, I was the one on the playground quietly holding the whispered secrets of friends, somehow they knew that their stories were safe with me. As a teenager, I watched peers struggle deeply (and tragically) with depression and emotional pain, wishing I could help but not yet having the tools to do so.

As a collegiate athlete, I found a consistent space to explore my identity and the many parts of myself that didn’t always have room to exist off the field. Captaining my team — who truly became family — taught me how to walk alongside others through joy, stress, setbacks, and resilience. That experience continues to shape the way I show up today: grounded, collaborative, and deeply attuned to the power of connection.

I founded CMFT as a solo practice in 2005 after gaining early clinical experience across a variety of mental health settings, including community mental health, non-profit agencies, school-based counseling, and in-home family therapy. Being invited into clients’ homes — their most personal and vulnerable spaces — was a profound honor. It taught me how to respectfully step into a family’s world, join with compassion, and support them as they navigate life’s most disruptive challenges, including complex grief, trauma, chronic illness and major life transitions.

In 2014, I expanded my personal world by becoming a parent for the second time and simultaneously expanded my professional world by growing the practice. Since taking on my first supervisee, CMFT has evolved into a collaborative group practice rooted in thoughtful, systemic care and a genuine commitment to community impact.

As Owner, Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, and often the Billing and Intake Coordinator, I’ve come to appreciate the many hats that come with leading a small group practice. Coming to understand my own neurodivergence later in life has shaped the way I approach both leadership and clinical work, increasing my respect for different nervous systems, processing styles, and relational needs. I truly enjoy mentoring and working alongside a team of Licensed, Limited-Permit/Associate, and Student Intern therapists.

In the therapy room, I bring a calm, curious, and unassuming presence, along with an integrated, holistic approach to care — and a bit of humor when it’s helpful. I especially enjoy working with couples and individuals who are seeking more meaningful, secure connections in their lives, particularly around transitions into parenthood, anger and anxiety, infertility, infidelity and trust repair, perinatal mental health and late-identified neurodivergence within a neurodiversity-affirming framework..
